Getting to Falsterbo

Falsterbo sits at the very southwestern tip of Sweden, a slender peninsula surrounded by sea on three sides. Despite its secluded feel, getting here is straightforward whether you fly, drive or take the train. Here is everything you need to plan your journey.

By air

Two airports serve the Falsterbo area, making it easy to reach from across Europe and beyond.

Copenhagen Kastrup (CPH) — 35 min drive

Copenhagen Airport is the best option for international travellers. Scandinavia's largest hub has direct connections to most major European cities and many intercontinental routes. From Kastrup, you can rent a car and drive across the Oresund Bridge to Falsterbo in about 35 minutes. Alternatively, take the Oresund train to Malmo Central (20 minutes) and then bus 100 to Falsterbo. The bridge toll for cars is approximately SEK 570 (around EUR 50) for a single crossing.

Malmo Airport / Sturup (MMX) — 25 min drive

Malmo Airport is the closest option, just 25 minutes by car. It primarily handles domestic Swedish flights from Stockholm. Car hire is available at the terminal, or you can take the airport coach to Malmo Central and connect by bus.

By car

Driving is the most convenient way to reach Falsterbo, and having a car gives you the freedom to explore the surrounding area during your stay. From Malmo, follow road 100 south through Vellinge toward Skanor-Falsterbo. The final stretch along the Falsterbo Canal offers a scenic welcome to the peninsula.

If you are coming from Denmark, cross the Oresund Bridge and follow the E6 motorway south of Malmo before turning off toward Vellinge and road 100. The total driving time from central Copenhagen is about 50 minutes. From Gothenburg, follow the E6 south — it takes around 3.5 hours. From Stockholm, the journey is approximately 6 hours via the E4 and E6.

By train and bus

Sweden has excellent rail connections. Trains from Stockholm, Gothenburg and other cities arrive at Malmo Central Station. From there, take Skanetrafiken bus 100 toward Skanor-Falsterbo — the ride takes about 45 to 50 minutes and runs regularly throughout the day. The bus stop in Falsterbo is within walking distance of our properties.

If you are arriving from Copenhagen, the Oresund train crosses the bridge and reaches Malmo Central in just 20 minutes. From there, transfer to bus 100 as above.

Booking tip

Book long-distance trains at sj.se (English version available). Regional buses can be purchased via the Skanetrafiken app or at skanetrafiken.se. During summer, buses can fill up, so plan with a little extra time.

The Oresund Bridge

The iconic 16-kilometre bridge-and-tunnel link between Denmark and Sweden is the main gateway if you arrive via Copenhagen. Tolls are paid at the booth on the Danish side and can be settled by card. A single car crossing costs around SEK 570 (roughly EUR 50). Frequent travellers can save with a BroPass contract. Full details at oresundsbron.com.

Once you arrive

As you approach the peninsula, you will follow road 100 south from Vellinge. The landscape opens up, flat fields meeting the sky, and you cross the Falsterbo Canal before reaching the twin towns of Skanor and Falsterbo. After your booking is confirmed, we send detailed directions and the exact address of your accommodation. If you have any questions about your journey, we are always happy to help.
